Feeding the Homeless is an ongoing ministry at Monroe Park in Richmond Virginia. Anyone interested in volunteering we meet in the youth building Sunday morning at 7:00 a.m. to prepare lunch bags and hygiene kits which will then be distributed to the homeless. Then leave for Monroe Park and return in time for the worship service at 11:00 a.m.
Between visits to Monroe Park, we collect individual snack items (like chips, crackers, or Vienna sausages) and personal hygiene items (deodorant, toothbrushes, and toothpaste); these items are given away as part of our ministry to the homeless.
“Hats for the Homeless”
This project to pair off with feeding the homeless will be lead by Jessica Evans she will provide hand-made crocheted and/or knitted hats to the homeless for the winter time. If you are interested in making hats, or give yarn or monetary donations toward materials contact Jessicak0402@aol.com. Also baskets will be placed in the vestibule and both ends of the church for yarn donations.
We will also continue collecting gloves, socks, hats, coats, and donations of any amount. Everyone is invited to join us in serving the needs of the homeless.
